In Respect of my Late brother Deputy Prime Minister Hon Sam Basil, Leader of ULP, Member for Wau Bulolo and friend I held a very silent and small nomination program nominating today at Gagidu, Finschhafen.
Painted in Ash and Mud, I quietly nominated with the full confidence of my supporters who agreed not to cheer or shout to show our sorrow and grief when 5 years ago he flew in to witness my endorsement.
Thank you all my supporters for standing down all singing groups, drama, preparations to just walk in silence up to nominate. May he’s Soul Rest in Peace.
All the best to all who are nominating or who will nominate to contest Finschhafen Open. May God bless all our efforts and allow whoever he chooses to lead our people. I’ve done my best and leave the Rest to My God and My People to decide.
I thank my people for giving me the privilege to serve them, I greatly thank Lorraine and the kids for standing with me for the past 5 years through it all. The ups and the downs, the challenges and the tears.
Couldn’t have done it without all of you.
As we step into a new Era and Drive, I stand with great gratitude for everything.

My view on Australia recruiting 10,000 soldiers and giving them Australian citizenship is a very positive development for Australia and PNG. Simply because we have 30,000 young people finishing school every year and most of them are unable to find jobs.
