This is the story of Scott Sause. Scott is from Yangoru in East Sepik Province of Papua New Guinea. Scott writes, “I wanted to share my story to encourage you all to focus on developing your character and working on those chinks in your armor. Through life, there’s a lot to gain and a lot to lose, but one thing I know to be true is that character is something that stays with you no matter where you go. Be determined and stay consistent in the pursuit of your goals. Just because something is hard, doesn’t mean it’s impossible to achieve – remember the tougher the climb, the better the view.
To struggling young people of  Papua New Guinea: do not be a prisoner of your past. If you are someone who is experiencing the same family problem as mine, never take revenge. If you do, you will never find satisfaction. Rather, try to build yourself up, pull yourself together, study hard if you are a student, work hard if you're employed, start up small business if you have to. Most importantly, put God first in everything you do. - Ms. Caroline Winuan.
