Announcement of Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 2022 - Scholarships Opportunity for Papua New Guinea students

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships for 2022 to Papua New Guinean students in the following two categories.

1. Research Students (postgraduate level)
Application Guidelines
●Required application documents: Refer to the list of the required documents in Page 6 of the Application Guidelines. Use the formats for the following documents (click to download) . Other documents must be prepared by applicants.
Application Form
Placement Preference Application Form
Field of Study and Research Plan
Recommendation letter from the president/dean or the academic advisor at the current or last university attended (Sample. Free format is acceptable)
Medical certificate
Recommendation letter from the present employer (if an applicant is currently employed. Sample. Free format is acceptable)
●Application period: 3 May (Monday) to 11 June (Friday), 2021
●Required application documents must be submitted to Scholarhisp Section, Embassy of Japan
* Submission by email or fax is not acceptable.
* Submitted documents will not be returned.
●Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted by 18 June (Friday), 2021.
●Written examination and interview will be conducted for the shortlisted applicants as below.
- Date: 28 June (Monday), 2021
・Written examination (English & Japanese): 9:00-12:00
・Interview: about 20 minutes bewteen 13:00 and 16:00
- Venue: Multipurpose Hall, Public Relations and Culture Section, Embassy of Japan

2. Specialized Training College Students (post-secondary education level)
Application Guidelines
●Required application documents: Refer to the list of the required documents in Page 6 of the Application Guidelines. Use the formats for the following documents (click to download) . Other documents must be prepared by applicants.

Recommendation letter from either a class teacher or principal of last school attended (Sample. Free format is acceptable)
Medical certificate
●Application period: 3 May (Monday) to 11 June (Friday), 2021
●Required application documents must be submitted to Scholarhisp Section, Embassy of Japan
* Submission by email or fax is not acceptable.
* Submitted documents will not be returned.
●Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted by 18 June (Friday), 2021.

・Written examination (English, Mathematics & Japanese): 8:30-12:30
・Interview: about 20 minutes bewteen 13:30 and 16:00
- Venue: Multipurpose Hall, Public Relations and Culture Section, Embassy of Japan
