The renewal process began on July 5, 2025, when the Simbu PHA submitted a request for a specialized employment arrangement to the Department of Personnel Management (DPM).

While national retirement laws often signal the end of a professional career, Simbu PHA’s Senior Executive Management (SEM) emphasized that Dr. Jaworski remains physically fit, highly capable, and indispensable to the province’s healthcare system.

Dr. Kassi Ken, CEO of Simbu PHA, described the new international contract as a ‘bold step’ towards retaining elite medical talent.

“This is an international contract that should have been formalized a long time ago,” Dr. Ken stated.

“Dr. Jaworski deserves this recognition. Under this new agreement, he will have the autonomy to retire on his own terms whenever he chooses.” he said.

Dr. Jaworski occupies a unique niche in Papua New Guinea as both a renowned orthopedic specialist and a Catholic Priest, a dual role that has earned him a reputation for healing both bodies and souls.

Upon signing, Dr. Jaworski expressed his surprise and gratitude to the SEM for the recognition of his lifelong service.

His continued presence ensures that healthcare standards in Simbu remain high, anchored by a surgeon whose name has become synonymous with dedication and magic in the operating theater.
