PRIME MINISTER JAMES MARAPE MUST RESIGN NOW! The chaos and violence gripping Papua New Guinea demand immediate action—Marape’s leadership has failed to ensure safety and stability throughout the Nation.

PNG Deputy Opposition Leader of the Parliament Mr. James Nomane, MP. demands the PM James Marape to step down and resign as the prime minister.

PRIME MINISTER JAMES MARAPE MUST RESIGN NOW!

Approved for release – The Prime Minister, Police Minister, and Police Commissioner must take responsibility for the chaos and violence gripping Papua New Guinea.

The law-and-order crisis has left citizens unsafe, exposing the country to unprecedented instability. The kakistocracy under James Marape has rendered PNG fragile and vulnerable.

The collapse of law and order in the Highlands is proof of the Marape government’s failure. Gun-toting criminals and machete-wielding murderers now rule with impunity. This reign of terror confirms that the government has lost both legitimacy and moral authority to govern.

Since 2019, James Marape has led a government of incompetence, where unqualified MPs have squandered public funds on scams like Con-Act PNG, Gold Bullion, and the Insurance fraud targeting public servants. Lacking empathy and vision, Marape’s leadership has driven PNG towards becoming a failed state.

A legitimate government must ensure the safety of its citizens. Marape has failed this fundamental mandate, with crisis after crisis proving his inability to lead. He simply does not have the acumen required to be Prime Minister.

Violent crime is at an all-time high. The brutal murders of 2025 are a symptom of failed political leadership, eroding public trust and further delegitimizing the government. This demands immediate action from Parliament: Marape must be removed for failing to protect the people.

The Prime Minister, Police Minister, and Police Commissioner lacked the moral courage to face the families of slain policemen in Goroka or visit crisis zones in Tari and Porgera. Instead, they continue their detached governance from Port Moresby while under-resourced officers risk their lives on the front lines.

James Marape has no strategy to fix PNG’s law-and-order crisis. His priority is clinging to power and promoting incompetent leadership rather than making tough decisions for the national interest.

The nation cannot afford more of Marape’s empty rhetoric. The escalating crisis will worsen unless we change this government.

I, therefore, demand the immediate resignation of Prime Minister James Marape and Police Minister Peter Tsiamalili. Parliament must act now to restore security, governance, and the future of Papua New Guinea.
