This afternoon Anthony Wagambie Jnr was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police – Southern Command from his previous rank as Metropolitan Superintendent for Lae City.
His promotion was officiated at Police Headquarters in Konedonu in a small ceremony by Commissioner of Police David Manning.
ACP Wagambie will continue as Acting NCD/Central to deliver the station of excellence project in the nation’s capital.
John Kolopen, Director for Community Policing was also promoted to head up ACP Border.
Former ACP Border, Samson Kua was confirmed to take over Commissioner of Police former position as ACP Operations.
The promotions were made following recommendations by Police Promotions Board, Chaired by retired Luthern Bishop Sommy Setu and his two other board members ACP Mangai (Commissioner’s Rep) and ACP Northern, Peter Guiness (Association’s Rep) The board considered a total of 12 applications before arriving at the recommendations.
