MARAPE: WE HAVE BEEN BUILDING STRONG FOUNDATIONS OF THE COUNTRY IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

PRIME Minister James Marape says for the last 365 days, the Marape-Steven was into the business of building a strong foundations for the country.
Marape said for the last 365 days, many have been accussing and continue grandstanding that he has not delivered much.
“If you relate to infrastructures as deliverables, then you are possibly correct because we haven’t delivered any infrastructures yet while being in office.”
“But let me point out that to deliver better and quality infrastructures for now and into the future, the foundations of the country needs to be properly built first.
“That’s what we have been doing while in the office for one year,” Marape said.
He reiterated that to have a nice strong building that stands and outlifts the test of time, the winds, shakes, and the storms, sold foundations and structures must be laid first.
“So in the last 364 days, amidst politics, Covid-19, economic downturns and social tensions, our government has continued to dig the foundations for what should emerge to the future as a country that has a equal opportunity.”
Marape said his Government will continue to build foundations and structures into the future until a better PNG is built.
He also added that to develop a country, it’s not always about building infrastructures but it’s also about reforming and reshaping government’s structures and systems.
The Prime Minister highlighted these while giving the government’s 12 months performance brief report yesterday.
A full one year performance report for the Marape-Steven Government explaining details of its foundations and structures is expected to be made known to the public on Monday.
It is understood the full 12-month performance report will be based on Take Back PNG Policy under the following main categories: Budget, Economic Sector, Social, Law & Order, Bougainville and Legacy Issues.
