Hello, I’m Geno and I am currently in search for a relevant job opportunity in the tourism sector or any related field.
As a young Papua New Guinean, I want to be a vessel of change for the future of my country in the tourism sector. I have recently completed my Master of Tourism Management Program in Victoria University of Wellington.
Throughout the course of my study both at UPNG and VUW, I have acquired skills in Microsoft office, Outlook, Excel, creating social media contents, Power point presentations, events management using EventsAir Software, and academic research (thesis writing).
I have experience in leadership during the duration of my primary, secondary and tertiary studies. I have also gained leadership skills through my recent part-time position as a Student Ambassador at the Victoria University of Wellington.
I have excellent communication and networking skills with both domestic and international professionals and colleagues, including those outside of the university.
I am most passionate about traveling, engaging with indigenous communities and developing strategies for tourism ventures that help influence local communities to be empowered in their respective tourism ventures.
My mission is to educate those in rural villages to learn strategies about how to take ownership of their resources and practice sustainability for their future generations.
Sustainable tourism is one of the most important concepts that's needs more like-minded people, particularly in working with rural communities to implement it's objectives for the betterment of future tourism.
I aim to have a career in tourism where I am able to engage with organizations that share the same mission and to exuberate indigenous and/or community empowerment through advocating of sustainable tourism development in Papua New Guinea.
Thank you for taking the time to read my brief summary on my background and key objectives. I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with any organization that is willing to take me on board.
