Mom Needs Help to Get Life-Saving Heart Surgery in the Philippines – Update #1.
Hi everyone,
As some of you may know, I recently shared a bit about a personal challenge my family is facing. My amazing mom, the strongest woman I know, has been diagnosed with heart failure.
Watching her struggle has been incredibly difficult, and we’re determined to do everything we can to help her.
My mom has always been the rock of our family. For years, she dedicated herself to public service at the Civil Registry Office, guiding countless couples through their marriages.
She also poured her heart into raising my siblings and me, even putting her own career on hold to support us and my dad’s ambitions. Then, in 2017, life threw us a curveball when my dad left, leaving my mom to navigate everything on her own.
Despite facing so much hardship, including being the sole provider while my siblings were still in school, she never wavered. She worked tirelessly to support us, and thanks to her, we’re all pursuing our dreams.
My brother is about to graduate with a law degree and become an Officer Cadet in the PNG Defense Force, and my youngest sister is in her final year at UPNG studying Political Science.
On top of that, she also supports my widowed sister and her two children. My mom truly is an extraordinary woman who has always put others first.
Now, it’s our turn to support her. She needs heart surgery in the Philippines, and the costs are substantial. That’s why we’re launching a medical fundraising appeal to help cover these expenses and give her the chance to regain her health and vibrancy.

Mom’s Hospital Discharge and Brother’s Graduation: A Heartfelt Update
by Francesca Digori – 4/28/2025For all those who are following my mom’s story here, please be informed that she was discharged from PMGH today and she is now back in the comfort of home, just in time for my brother’s (School of Law) graduation tomorrow.
I appreciate all my connections (friends, colleagues and those others) who have been praying for us this past week. I would also like to appreciate my employer Pacific Energy Contracting Limited particularly the leadership team and team HR who have given me their support by
- 🌸 allowing me the freedom to be able to attend to my mom in the hospital
- 🌸 sent me and my siblings’ words of encouragement
- 🌸 assisted with logistics at times
Please stay tuned, now that my mom has been discharged, I will have time to collect the cardiac specialists report and get the Medical Fundraising Account opened so that those who can give will donate straight into the Medical Appeal Account.
I am so blessed by the sense of community and care that everyone has shown us in these last few days. I am also over the moon that my mom will get to attend my brother’s graduation tomorrow.
Thank you all! 💜 😊
