The UBS OC Report has been tabled in parliament. As Prime Minister, he allowed the OC Report to be tabled in parliament. The report is available at Ombudsman Commission office for public viewing.
Prime Minister James Marape told the parliament today that the current COI does not stop police to carry out its duties. Police are free to carry out investigations on those leaders implicated in the report including himself.
Prime Minister also made it clear that the OC Report only focuses on leaders (politicians) and does not cover other beneficiaries of the K3 billion UBS loan.
Hence, in the interest of the taxpayers, the government through NEC established the COI that is headed by some of the highly qualified and experienced individuals from PNG and overseas to investigate this costly transaction so that justice is served on everyone involved and benefited including corporate entities.
