RAI COAST TO ESTABLISH DISTRICT NID OFFICE - Papua New Guinea MP at Work.
By Hon. Kessy Sawang, MP. WYMPID: 27/01/2023
Had discussions with Ms Grace Dasse - NID Manager Madang - to address the issue of NID for the District.
Our people face much hardships in traveling to Madang town and having to stay there for NID registration, in addition to the snail-paced process.
Our people must not be forced to dig deeper into their pockets to go in search of services. As employees of our people, we must bring ourselves and services to our people, wherever they are.
We will start off with a mobile unit, whilst we establish office. RDDA will employ 4 people per LLG, who will undergo NID training. Our aim is to have 80% of our people registered by 31/12/23.
So far, Rai Coast has only 8,000 people registered, out of a potential 70,000 people above 18. This is very low. Many of our people live in very remote hard-to-reach communities, along the rugged Finistree Ranges and remote islands. We will bring services to them.
NID officials will also be in villages where we hold DDA meetings during DDA Week. Our people are encouraged to visit the NID Team there for registration.
First quarter RDDA Week is 06 - 10 March, 2023, Suwit Village, Ward 11, Mod 2 Census Division, Rai Coast Rural LLG.

My view on Australia recruiting 10,000 soldiers and giving them Australian citizenship is a very positive development for Australia and PNG. Simply because we have 30,000 young people finishing school every year and most of them are unable to find jobs.
