From a Street Seller in Papua New Guinea to a Professional Boxer in Australia – Inspirational Story of Paul Aiaro. Port Moresby is full of opportunities but many young people think negative about themselves. We produce negative behaviour which in return closes off our minds to see the positive things in life.

But if we refrain from doing bad things and take a step back and look hard enough, we can see what we can do best in our lives as individuals. There are plenty of opportunities out there but you just need to change the way you see things. Today this chronic street vendor of Tabari place is enjoying his hard work as he changed his mindset from street seller to becoming a professional boxer in Australia.

From a Street Seller in Papua New Guinea to a Professional Boxer in Australia - Inspirational Story of Paul Aiaro

From Tabari Place CD seller to professional Boxer in Australia

PAUL Aiaro from Hela Province in Tari Pori District is a testimony to some young people out there that there's always a hope if you can change your mindset.

Paul sold movie CDs,DVDs and Bettlenut at the front of 4 mile Stop n Shop and Tabari place bus stop in Boroko,NCD.

Paul like many other vendors such as him, took refuge at the Tabari bus stop area. The area is home to them, despite good or bad weather and while some of us sleep comfortably in our homes, he and his friends slept at the bus stop.

He resorted to being a street vendor after being dropped out of the formal education system. Paul was a chronic street seller in the city as he was well known in the city. He was given the nickname “CD Scratch”.

As a street seller, we were best buddy. One thing he said that amazed me was “we street sellers have money every day but we must save it to do better things in life or invest in something worthwhile”.

Eventually Aiaro’s sales started growing and he ventured into selling sports kits. Paul Aiaro is now a professional boxer in Australia. His story is inspiring and can encourage youths on the streets or settlements to change their bad behaviors.

As a matter of fact, Port Moresby is full of opportunities but many (young people) think negative about themselves. We produce negative behaviour which in return closes off our minds to see the positive things in life.

But if we pause from doing bad things and take a step back and look hard enough, you can see what you can do best in your life as individuals. There are plenty opportunities out there but you just need to change the way you see things.

Today this chronic street vendor of Tabari place is enjoying his hard work as he changed his mindset from street seller to be a professional boxer in Australia.
