OFFICER INVOLVED MEDICAL FACULTY INCIDENT SUSPENDED.
By Bryan Kramer | 11.09.19.
This morning I received a message reporting an incident that occurred last night at the UPNG Medical Faculty residential premises involving a Police Officer attached to Special Services Division, SSD, who allegedly under the influence, threatened medical students with a tactical assault rifle.
In response I passed on the report to Police Headquarters to look into.
I’m pleased to inform that the officer involved has been identified, suspended and the firearm recovered. Charges are being prepared and will be layed against the officer involved.
It’s important to note under Marape-Steven Government and new Police Hierarchy, there will be zero tolerance of Police ill-discipline.
The public can be assured every incident reported to my office or brought to my attention will be noted and dealt with.
